The Selective Functional Movement Assessment
Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) is a movement assessment approach designed to help you better assess, prevent and correct musculoskeletal dysfunction.
Dr. Lars Seitzinger uses the SFMA to find the root and cause of symptoms by breaking down dysfunctional patterns logically rather than simply finding the source of the pain. When the clinical assessment is initiated from the perspective of a movement pattern, the clinician has the opportunity to identify meaningful impairments that may be seemingly unrelated to the main musculoskeletal complaint, but contributes to the associated disability.
The SFMA screen includes:
- The seven standard evaluation components to a Selective Functional Movement Assessment and how to identify dysfunction. These seven components are known as the “Top Tier”.
- Building therapeutic treatment programs composed of the latest in manual therapy and
- Safely progressing our patients throughout the entirety of their rehabilitation
- Evaluating the effectiveness of our assessment and treatment through careful monitoring of progress
