What Is WorkSafeBC?

WorkSafeBC is British Columbia’s workers’ compensation system. If you’re injured or become ill because of your job, WorkSafeBC may cover your treatment costs and provide wage replacement while you recover. This includes coverage for Physiotherapy, chiropractic care, registered massage therapy, and other rehabilitation services that may help you get back to work.

The system exists to protect workers across BC, from construction sites in the Okanagan to healthcare facilities at Kelowna General Hospital to retail locations in Orchard Park Shopping Centre.

What We Offer for WorkSafeBC Clients

Pro Motion Clinic provides comprehensive care for workplace injuries. Our team includes Chiropractors, Physiotherapists, Registered Massage Therapists, and Kinesiologists who work with injured workers every day.

We understand that you’re not just trying to manage pain. You’re trying to get back to doing your job, whether that means swinging a hammer on construction sites near Mission Creek, lifting patients in healthcare settings, or standing through long shifts in Kelowna’s busy restaurant scene.

Our approach focuses on four key areas:

Z

Hands-On Treatment

Our practitioners may use manual therapy techniques that can help address muscle tension, joint restrictions, and movement problems that often come with workplace injuries.
Z

Return-to-Work Planning

Getting you back to work safely is the goal. We communicate regularly with your WorkSafeBC case manager and may recommend modified duties or a gradual return-to-work plan based on your progress.
Z

Understanding Your Injury

We take time to explain what’s happening in your body and what to expect during recovery. When you understand your injury, you can be an active participant in getting better.
Z

Exercise Rehabilitation

Movement is medicine. We’ll work with you on exercises designed to restore function, build strength, and help prevent future injuries. These exercises are tailored to your specific injury and the demands of your job.

How WorkSafeBC Claims Work

When you’re injured at work, you need to report the injury to your employer right away. Your employer will file a report with WorkSafeBC, and you’ll need to file your own claim as well. You can do this online, by phone at 1-888-967-5377, or by mail.

Once WorkSafeBC receives your claim, they’ll review the information from you, your employer, and your healthcare providers. If your claim is accepted, WorkSafeBC will cover approved treatment costs. You’ll receive a claim number that you’ll use when booking appointments at clinics like Pro Motion.

The key thing to remember is that time matters. Report your injury quickly, seek treatment soon, and tell your healthcare providers that your injury is work-related.

Common Workplace Injuries We Treat

We work with Kelowna workers dealing with various workplace injuries. Lower back strains from lifting, neck pain from repetitive tasks, shoulder injuries from overhead work, and knee problems from jobs that require prolonged standing or kneeling are among the conditions we see regularly.

We also provide care for workers dealing with concussions, repetitive strain injuries, and soft tissue injuries from workplace accidents.

Billing WorkSafeBC Directly

Here’s good news: when your WorkSafeBC claim is accepted, we bill WorkSafeBC directly for approved treatments. You won’t need to pay out of pocket and wait for reimbursement.

When you book your first appointment, let us know it’s for a WorkSafeBC claim. Bring your claim number with you. We’ll handle the paperwork and communicate directly with WorkSafeBC about your treatment plan.

For certain services like Physiotherapy and registered massage therapy, WorkSafeBC has specific guidelines about the number of treatments covered within certain timeframes. We’ll make sure you understand what’s covered and keep you informed throughout your care.

Starting Treatment at Pro Motion Clinic

You don’t need to wait weeks for an appointment. We know that early treatment often leads to better outcomes, so we make space in our schedule for injured workers who need care quickly.

Our clinic is located at #202-3030 Pandosy Street in Kelowna, easy to access whether you’re coming from downtown, the Mission area, or anywhere in the Central Okanagan. We have parking available and wheelchair-accessible facilities.

What to Bring to Your First Appointment

Come prepared with your WorkSafeBC claim number, information about how your injury happened, any medical reports or imaging results you have, and details about your job duties. The more information we have, the better we can tailor your treatment plan.

If you’re still working in a modified capacity, bring information about your current restrictions and duties. This helps us track your progress and communicate effectively with your case manager.

Our Communication with WorkSafeBC

When you’re treated at Pro Motion Clinic, we send regular reports to WorkSafeBC about your progress. These reports help your case manager understand how you’re responding to treatment and when you might be ready to return to full duties.

We take this communication seriously because we know it affects your benefits and your return-to-work timeline. Our reports are thorough, timely, and focused on functional improvements that matter for your job.
